We have a rose bush outside my study which has withstood a whole lot of abuse. Our previous gardener suddenly decided to uproot it and replant it in a ridiculous place for no apparent reason. We told him to put it back and worried that the poor thing would not survive two rather harsh upheavals. This all happened late last year. Funnily enough it has come into the most beautiful and full bloom ever this month and we have a most appealing scent that drifts into the study too.
It is a sight for sore eyes especially when I happen to glance outside whilst hard at work in my study and even more beautiful with a kitten captured too.

What a beautiful picture. Your boy reminds me of my mom's old boy Snowy who is the baby of the family. I have pics of Snowy as a kitten tucked into the bib of my maternity dungarees and Bradley is almost 14 now so Snowy is obviously a bit older. Even with his increasing years he still knows how to act like a kitten and goads my mom into a 'fight' every now and then.
Gorgeous roses and kitty! Looks like the Just Joey rose. We have one in our garden. They smell divine too, and if I'm quick to deadhead the old blooms, it's hardly ever without buds.
