Today, 19 October is Corries birthday. Happy happy Corrie!
Corrie is my Mom's life partner. He came into our life in 1990, three years after my dad had passed and has certainly filled a certain role in all of our lives. He taught me to drive, encouraged me when I failed an Economics exam in Varsity, walked me down the isle on my wedding day and in his own quiet way is rather loving. Two days ago on 17 October also marked my Mom and Corrie's 21st anniversary. Wow and a huge big congrats to them.
We had a lovely impromptu little braai here at our house last night for Corrie and my Mom was of course here too along with my brother and his girlfriend. Lovely and relaxed with delicious braai meat Ala Andy, salads, good old traditional mealies Ala SA style and ended with Andy making us coffee and all of us munching ice-cream and/or the most delish vanilla choc chip muffins.
Isn't that the best part about family?
No real fuss but just a great happy time.
